The serial number is wrapped into the executable. When you click on the giveaway setup file the program is automatically registered for you. The giveaway team use several methods of activation depending upon the developer. Some give us what we have today, that is a dual set up and activation executable wrapped together, so you don't have to bother activating because it's automatically done for you. Then there's the unwrapped set up file and a separate activation executable (that's always wrapped within a giveaway wrapper) , then there's the wrapped set up file with a registration code which can be found in the read me. Finally, sometimes we get a wrapped setup file and have to go to the developers site to request an activation code.
Make sure you are online, and make a rule for the firewall. No proxy!
Make sure Internet Explorer is NOT in off-line modus (even when you use another browser.
Make sure that the programme is not running - exit with right click on the taskbar-icon.
